What to do in the event of a claim
If you have been involved in an incident we advise you do the following:
Stop
Turn off the engine and calmly check the situation.
Check on any passengers
If medical attention is required call 999 to request emergency services. If all passengers are able to leave the vehicle, make sure they do and that they find a safe space to move to.
Speak to any third-parties
Remain calm and ensure that you do not admit to any failings on your side. Try to gain information on any third-parties and their insurance arrangements as this will help in speeding up any claims made.
Take photos
If possible, take photos of the incident and any damage caused. Ensure you get photos of the road conditions and demonstrate the lighting and time of day as well as photos of any other vehicles or property that may be damaged.
Move vehicles
If the vehicles are driveable move any vehicles to the side of the road, or a safer place as soon as you can to ensure your safety and allow traffic can continue to flow.
Call 0330 8080 866
If you need assistance in moving the vehicle off the road call our claims line, and they will be able to assist you in arranging for someone to move your vehicle. If the vehicles can be moved, drive to a safe place or home and call us to make your claim.
